Parent and Child Programs at the Saltwater School offer a warm and alive environment for young children and their parent or caregiver. Play, natural crafts, songs and finger plays, shared snack and a puppet play fill our mornings together. A typical class includes:
Free play time with carefully chosen natural materials;
Baking bread and preparing a healthy snack together;
Exploring an aspect of storytelling and working on a craft activity related to our theme;
Group circle time, with seasonal games and songs;
Outdoor play in the Early Childhood playground
Each class meets on a weekly basis, with three terms available through the year (fall, winter and spring). The classes are designed for babies up to children aged three. Younger siblings and/ or a second parent may also attend. There is a vibrant community at Saltwater and families enrolled in our programs are invited to participate in festivals, parent evenings, work parties and craft nights.
