Cheridy Whipp - Kindergarten Teacher
Cheridy grew up on Vancouver Island, and has spent her childhood swimming and playing in the water, wandering in the woods, and observing all of the beauty that the natural world offers with each changing season. She encourages the exploration of this natural beauty with both her son, and her students.
Cheridy graduated with her Bachelor of Education in 2000. She discovered Waldorf education 4 years ago, after the birth of her son. She immediately felt a connection to the concept of nurturing the mind, body and spirit of the child. In January of 2016, she began working for Saltwater as an aide in the preschool, and as a teacher-on-call. She soon became a regular face in the Cedar building, spending most of her time between the kindergarten and preschool classes, as well as some time in the grade 1/2 class and aftercare. In the 2016-2017, “Miss Cheridy” became the lead kindergarten teacher.
Cheridy recently completed a summer intensive through the West Coast Institute, and intends to begin her Early Childhood Waldorf education soon. In the meantime, she is looking forward to more intensive courses, and enjoying the endless inspiration and support that she finds within other Waldorf teachers that she meets. She has truly felt embraced by the community at the school, and is loving the new direction that her life is taking as a result of her experiences here.
